Social integration of Japanese return migrants (i.e., Japanese left behind in China, Japanese-Brazilians), particularly in terms of assimilation as a survival tactic. Comparative study of Japanese return migration and ethnic return migration. Reconstruction and activities aimed at preserving and transmitting the histories of emigration in areas with high numbers of emigrants in Japan.
